How Home Collection Works
Royal Mail home collection is an optional Royal Mail service for customers who prefer not to visit a Post Office. Lois Bullion supplies your free seller pack and prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope; the collection booking itself is completed on Royal Mail’s website using the tracking number printed on the prepaid envelope.
1Order your free seller packRequest your free seller pack online. If your items are worth over £2,500, order extra packs to stay within the insurance limit.
2Receive your seller packYour seller pack normally arrives within 1 working day with instructions and a prepaid envelope.
Only start the Royal Mail booking once your seller pack has arrived and you can see the tracking number printed on the prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope. Royal Mail controls the collection website, available dates, collection windows, charges and payment options.
Ready to book? Use Royal Mail’s collection page and follow the steps below.
Enter the Tracking Number from Your Prepaid Envelope
On the Royal Mail collection page, choose the option indicating that postage has already been purchased or that the item is being returned using a Royal Mail Tracked Returns service. Then select Yes, there’s a tracking number and enter the tracking number exactly as printed on the prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope in your seller pack.
Royal Mail tracking numbers normally begin with two letters and end with GB. For example: AB 1234 5678 9GB. This is an example format only.
Select the option for existing prepaid postage, then enter the tracking number from the seller-pack envelope.
Select the Parcel Size and Weight
When the items fit securely inside the supplied prepaid envelope and remain within the applicable dimensions and weight, select Royal Mail’s Large Letter option. If the items do not fit inside the supplied prepaid envelope, use your own sturdy box or secure packaging and choose the Royal Mail parcel-size and weight options that match the complete finished package.
Standard seller packWhen the items fit securely inside the supplied prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope and remain within the applicable dimensions and weight, select Royal Mail’s Large Letter option.
Own secure packagingIf the items do not fit inside the supplied prepaid envelope, use your own sturdy box or secure packaging and attach the prepaid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope securely to the outside. Choose the Royal Mail parcel-size and weight options that match the complete finished package.
Choose the Royal Mail size and weight option that matches the packed parcel.
Royal Mail parcel guidance can include maximum size and weight limits, and these can vary by service. If your parcel is large, heavy or unusual, check Royal Mail’s current guidance before booking.
Add Another Seller Pack if Needed
Each separately tracked seller pack is insured up to £2,500 when used in accordance with the applicable terms. If the items are worth more, order enough seller packs so that the value in each parcel stays within the £2,500 insurance limit.
Each parcel must use its own seller pack, its own prepaid envelope and its own unique tracking number. If you select Add another item, enter the separate tracking number printed on that parcel’s prepaid envelope, select the parcel size and weight for that parcel, and repeat the process for every additional parcel.
Do not reuse one tracking number for multiple seller packs. Royal Mail needs a different tracking number for every additional item.
Use Add another item only when you have a separate prepaid envelope and tracking number for the next parcel.
